Hobe Sound

Hobe Sound is named for a group of Native Americans who once inhabited the land, the Jobe. The spelling later changed. Hobe Sound is unincorporated land in Martin County, and is situated between Jonathan Dickinson State Park and Port Salerno. However, it doesn’t include Jupiter Island, which is also part of Martin County.

Camp Murphy – Prior to being established as a state park in 1950, the land served as top-secret U.S. Army Camp Murphy from 1942 to 1944, a radar training school.
